60 yr old Abul Kashem diagnosed with Lipoma over the left shoulder region, was a surgery recipient of August, 2010. For the last few years he was suffering from his lipoma. Finally in this August his lipoma was removed, without any complications. The surgery was provided by Nurture and was funded by Touching Souls International, a nonprofit organization.
His excision sand lipoma was removed on 8/2/2010 by surgeon Dr.Panna Lal Shah and anesthesiologist, Dr.Kawsar Ahmed.
The finance of Kashem’s surgery was provided by the nonprofit organization, Touching Souls International, which provides the finance for twelve surgeries in each month for very needy patients of Bangladesh. these operations are done in Nurture General Hospital, North Halishahar, Chittagong.
Below are the 6 programs which are provided by Nurture & financed by Touching Souls International:
1.Carry out 10 free surgical operations per month on Hydrosil, Hernia, Piles, Tumor, at Nurture General Hospital by hired Surgeons & Anesthetists and Nurture’s operation theater, Nurture’s Hospital facilities, Nurses & other paramedics and free beds.
2.Free Mother & Child primary health care services at the out-door of Nurture General Hospital at a nominal registration fee of Tk-20/- per patient, 5-days per week by female M.B.B.S. Doctors trained in either or Gynecology/obstetrics/Mother- care/Child-care etc.
3.Under Mother-care services, carry out 2 surgical operations in each month hysterectomy by senior Gynecological surgeon/Consultant, Anesthesiologist for operation & supply of Medicine for operation. Nurture provides O.T. services, duty Doctor’s Nurses, Paramedics etc. and free bed.
4. Provides assistance in the treatment of bedsore of in-door poor paralyzed patients at Nurture Center for Disabled and Paralyzed, by providing costs for buying dressing materials. Doctors, Physiotherapists, Nurses, Paramedics of Nurture undertakes the treatment and daily supervision and provide free-beds to the poor patients.
5.Financial support for the free primary school of Nurture named “AMADER PATHSHALA” by bearing the monthly costs of stationery (Exercise &home-work books, pencils, rubbers, sharpeners, papers, dusters etc.). There are 7(Seven) classes: Nursery, K.G.,
Class I-V and about 130 poor students from the slum.
