In an endeavor to upgrade the poorer sections of the society in Bangladesh, Touching Souls International, a nonprofit organization has taken up a number steps to help people living in remote villages. Our self reliant projects for the poor are meant towards uplifting the social as well as the economic condition of the unprivileged class so that they have a better standard of living. A wide section of the society ranging from children, widows, beggars to the aged have been brought under the assistance projects.
Our self reliant projects include both financial aid and also a number of small scale programs related to health, education, business and so on. The main objective of these projects is to help the poorer sections have a social status. As we all know, one of the main problems that plagues Bangladesh is income inequality. We believe that our projects will be an effort to minimize the problem and make all sections of the society equal and self sufficient.
Our charity projects are based around the villages of Vikrampur, Munsiganj and in Kishoreganj. Initiated in the year 1979, we have come a long way and have helped hundreds of poor people find new homes, get self reliant, and financially independent. Some of the projects that we have worked on include medical assistance to the aged and needy, financial aid to widows, capital for starting small scale businesses. Under the capital assistance scheme, sewing machines and rickshaws are provided to the only earning member of the family to start a business. For widows, goats, chickens and cows are provided.
The capital assistance project provided by the nonprofit, Touching Souls International is an endeavor to make poor people become self reliant financially and socially. For ferywalas and shopkeepers, small amount of money is also provided so that they can put it into the business.
Through our self reliant projects, we have raised the living standards of the backward sections and have given them a new lease of life.
