Nowadays Tahir has started playing again! The ten year boy who used to wash clothes in a local shop has now found a new meaning of life. This has all been made possible by the education funding projects of Touching Souls International. Our main aim is to eradicate the curse of illiteracy from Bangladesh and improve the social status of the backward sections of the country.
Hundreds of children in the remote villages of Bangladesh do not get any form of education, and from childhood itself are forced to work to earn a meager living. Their families are so poor that they cannot even afford basic education. Our funding projects are aimed at these sections to provide free education for the poor. There are quite a few education programs that we have undertaken to provide learning services to the poor people in remote villages. One is the scholarship and funding schemes, available for students studying from 5th to 12th standards. The scholarship is offered to students, based on their performances. Both full time and part time assistance is provided, depending on the requirements.
For paving the path of education to even the remote areas, we have initiated a school funding program, under which schools in the villages of Banail and Kishoregang are provided financial assistance. The monetary assistance is provided for the overall upkeep and maintenance of the school. To make the process uniform and transparent, we regularly coordinate with the school authorities, who send us the progress details. Moreover, our staff also supervise the proceedings to ensure that the money is spent for the right purposes.
The aim of our education programs are simple- no child in Bangladesh should lose his or her study for the sake of poverty. All our education projects echo this very aim to provide the country with the right education.
