Give a hope to live
74 Year old Faruson Miah of Tarail thana, Kishoreganz district of Bangladesh cannot get work for his living anymore. In his earlier days he used to work as a worker in the farming land. Now with his age, his capacity of work has changed a lot. He cannot work in the same speed and energy he used to do in his earlier days. Nobody wants to hire him for work, they think the old guy is just killing his time in the field without any production of work. But how Faruson Miah is going to survive without work? He does not have any land or resources to provide him food, the most basic need for any living person. Waking up in the morning became a nightmare for him. From the morning, he had to think from where and how he will get the food for the day, who would be kind enough to give him at least one meal for the day, so he can fall asleep at night without the pain of hunger, not a fancy meal, at least something in his old belly, which even in this age, does not forget to give him the reminder, “I am hungry”. Sometimes he wonders why his other senses are not as active as his hunger, on that case he did not have to worry about food from the morning every day. Faruson Miah was filling so much hopeless and helpless in this stage of life being a burden for him and the society
When Faruson Miah was in his nightmare of hunger, Touching Souls International gave him a new life to live. They enrolled him in their monthly honorarium program. He got a card with his laminated picture on it, with which every 1st day of Bengali month he collects the monthly honorarium money to buy the food for the whole month. He is so much happy now, he can live the life like a human being again. He is among the one hundred and ten needy, elderly and disabled people of twenty one villages of Kishoreganz and Netrokona district of Bangladesh, getting this monthly honorarium from Touching Souls International to buy their food for the month. People who are elderly, very needy or disabled, who does not have any land, does not have any earning member in the family, do not get any kind of government allowances, could be eligible for this monthly honorarium provided by Touching Souls International. This is an ongoing monthly project of Touching Souls International, the goal of which is to feed a hungry.
We should count our blessings every time we, or our loved ones, fill our bellies, say a prayer for the millions of disadvantaged people who are struggling to have food for their hunger and finally answer that prayer by making a donation, or buying some foods and filling the bellies of the hungry, old, needy and disabled, without a job or any other resources to get their food, the most basic need to survive and saving them from the nightmare of hunger.
