Health care problems are a major cause of concern in Bangladesh. Due to the ill equipped socio economic infrastructure and medical facilities, the country experiences loss of lives every year due to epidemics, faulty health care and so on. The health care system in the country needs urgent overall revamp to improve the basic living condition of the backward classes, living in remote villages and districts. The health care charity offered by Touching Souls International aims to improve the overall health care services for underprivileged sections of the society.
Take for example the story of Rahim Anwar, an aged rickshaw puller living in the Kishoreganj District. Anwar was almost about to get blind due to cataract, till he came to know about the non profit organization, Touching Souls International‘s sight restoration and blindness prevention project. Thanks to this project, Anwar is now a completely treated and happy man after undergoing cataract surgery and lens implant absolutely free of cost. Like him, scores of poor families have benefited from our charity project and till now, we have successfully conducted 936 cataract surgeries. Working in support with the Bangladesh National Blind Society of Mymensingh, our aim is to eradicate the curse of blindness from the backward areas of the country.
In addition to these, we have also undertaken some other benevolent health care services for the poor too. Some of them include the cleft lip surgery programs, artificial limb project, and so on. Furthermore, we also have a health fund through which aid is provided to sponsor the medical expenses of the backward sections. Since 1981, we have successfully provided medical aid to those who cannot even afford basic treatment.
Touching Souls International’s motive and vision of providing health care charity is to make the backward sections of Bangladesh easily avail of the medical services, and maintain an improved standard of living.
