Fibroadenomas are one of the findings that can be seen on the mammogram. They are benign (not cancerous) breast tumors that are made of glandular and fibrous breast tissue. Fibroadenomas can occur alone, in groups or as a complex. If any one has multiple or complex fibroadenomas, this may raise the risk of breast cancer.
Fibroadenomas are most common in women who are from 15 to 30 years old and in pregnant women. Fibroadenomas occur in 10 percent of all women, This is a benign (not cancerous) tumor of the breast, usually occurring in younger women in their late teens. It is important that such tumors be biopsied and/or removed to make certain that they are not malignant (i.e., breast cancer). Surgical removal is the treatment option for it.
Although Marium was diagnosed with multiple fibroadenomas for a while, she could not afford the surgery. Finally with the philanthropic financial help from Touching Souls International her breast tumors were surgically removed.
Every month, this nonprofit organization, Touching Souls International provides 12 surgeries to very needy people of Bangladesh, who can not afford to have one with their limited capability.
