Nonprofit organizations play a very vital role in the backward regions of the world. Bangladesh is one such place where acute poverty and absence of proper infrastructure accounts for high rate of illiteracy and major health hazards. Nonprofit organizations are the only way to bring about a change in the lives of millions of Bangladeshis. Touching Souls International has been one of the pioneers in this regard having worked closely in this South Asian country for the last 25 years. Its activities in the remote areas of the country have set examples for others to follow.
Philanthropy has been the soul of all the projects initiated by Touching Souls International. Started as a family run organization it has actively generated funds from within the family and used them to run different developmental projects in Bangladesh. It has tried to focus all its projects in some of the core areas which are of grave concern to the country. These include absence of proper health care facilities for the poor, lack of educational infrastructure in the villages and slums and social awareness on issues like arsenic contamination in drinking water.
In the last two years Touching Souls International has been actively campaigning to encourage people to take to philanthropy and lay a helping hand in betterment of the people in this poor nation. The nonprofit organization is selflessly working towards guaranteeing the people the basics of life in terms of proper health care, elementary education and a hope to create a better future. It is reaching out to people as well as institutions that have active interest in philanthropy and are looking for a nonprofit organization which uses their donations to help this cause of humanity.
Volunteers of this nonprofit organization play a pivotal role in the planning and the implementation of all the projects. They campaign from village to village and from door to door making people aware of the all the projects and the programs that are being run by the organization. They facilitate the running of health camps poor and far flung areas of the country. They manage these camps where patients are attended by doctors and help those who are referred for free surgeries for aliments such as cataract, club foot and cleft-lip .
Touching Souls International has come a long way since its nascent start 25 years ago. It has made inroad not only in the remote villages and slums of Bangladesh but also in the hearts of people. For many people it symbolizes philanthropy, it symbolizes the activities and impact of a true nonprofit organization. All this has been a result of the hard work that each and every member of the core team and the volunteers that have put in over the years. In the coming years it hopes to reach out to more people with its projects and programs and bring in a new light of hope in the lives of the people. .
